What we're looking for
The Legal Specialist (LS) serves as the primary point of contact between clients and the legal team across the full life of a case from intake and pre-litigation through active litigation. The role carries core responsibilities spanning both phases: conducting the onboarding call, managing medical case progression, preparing the demand packet for attorney review, and, once a matter proceeds into suit, supporting the litigation team through discovery, pleadings, depositions, and pre-trial case management. As typically the client's first interaction with their legal team, the Legal Specialist establishes the tone and framework for the client relationship, setting expectations for the arc of a personal injury case through both pre-litigation and litigation and the firm's process specifically.
Throughout the treatment phase, the LS monitors medical treatment progress and bill generation, benchmarking them against applicable insurance coverage limits. Upon a client's discharge from treatment, the LS compiles all bills, records, and supporting materials and drafts the demand packet for attorney review prior to handoff. If a case proceeds into suit, the LS continues to support the file through litigation, tracking discovery deadlines, assisting with responses to written discovery, coordinating deposition and mediation logistics, and maintaining the case file through resolution.
Peer coaching, knowledge-sharing, and cross-functional collaboration within the Legal Specialist and overall Legal/Case Management Team is expected.
Performance Measures (KPIs)
- Volume and quality of client update calls, onboarding calls (OBCs), and demand packets
- KAMBE experience metrics
Client Experience & Communication
- Setting and managing client expectations throughout the lifecycle of the case
- Navigating and de-escalating client concerns as they arise
- Educating and empowering clients to understand their rights and the process
- Delivering the KAMBE client experience standard
