Armada Law Injury Attorneys secured a $1.15 million settlement for a 70-year-old client after another driver turned across his lane on a street in Myrtle Beach, SC. After the accident, our client spent the next six months in the hospital due to the severity of his injuries and multiple complications.

Attorney Anslee Woznick kept pressing for answers from the defendant until additional coverage was identified through a food delivery insurance policy. In the end, our car accident attorneys uncovered three separate insurance companies involved with the wreck that paid a total of $1.15 million toward our clients’ injuries and suffering.

"To have this case start to finish and obtain this outcome in 4.5 months is something I could have never imagined. It's so rare to have everyone on the same page at the same time, and this case was no different for the first four months." Anslee Woznick, Attorney

How the Accident Took Place

On a late March morning in 2026, our client was riding his moped south on 44th Avenue North in Myrtle Beach. A driver in a SUV, coming from the opposite direction, took a left turn into private property. The SUV crossed the center line into our client’s lane without yielding, causing the subsequent Myrtle Beach accident.

To avoid a head-on collision, our client reacted quickly. He bailed out as he was taught to do and ended up being thrown onto the pavement. What came next was nothing short of an uphill battle.

The Injuries He Suffered

Our client suffered nine broken ribs on his left side, a large pocket of blood in his chest wall, and internal bleeding. He went through multiple surgeries to stabilize his condition and spent his 70th birthday in the hospital. He was released after 23 days, with a hospital bed and medication for severe pain.

After being home for five days, he had to be rushed back to the hospital with severe stomach pain, undergoing emergency surgery and another one the following day.

Our client dealt with multiple complications through this process, including repeated infections. He required nutrition delivered through an IV to let his body heal. Once he was finally discharged, he was sent to a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility, not his home.

Our client spent nearly 190 days in the hospital and went through at least 21 surgeries and procedures in less than five months. His life has forever changed. He is now living with the trauma from the accident, as well as the emotional and physical pain it caused.

Fighting Relentlessly, The Armada Way

Our client signed up for legal representation with Armada Law Injury Attorneys in early April 2026. However, due to the severity of his injuries, his opportunities to communicate with us were limited. Anslee Woznick, the attorney leading his case, communicated regularly with his best friend, who stepped up and kept her updated on his condition and treatment.

At the same time, our team worked tirelessly to uncover all potential insurance policies that would cover the medical bills and everything else he was owed. Months went by without a clear answer from the other driver’s insurance company, even as Anslee and our team continued to investigate.

In late July, Anslee discovered that the responsible driver had been working for a food delivery platform when the crash happened. The driver’s insurance company had never indicated that this was a possibility.

A couple of weeks later, Anslee obtained the information of a new adjuster for the food delivery service, and a phone number to call. That same day, Anslee spoke with the newly assigned adjuster, making it clear how badly our client was hurt, and walked her through everything he had been through since the crash.

At that time, the client’s medical records and bills weren’t complete, as he was still receiving full-time care. Anslee didn’t wait; she built the case based on what could be established at the time, including medical records pieced together from the client’s online hospital portal, screenshots of bills, how the accident took place, and updates from his friends. A week after getting the new adjuster assigned, Anslee sent the demand letters asking for the full policy limits available to all three insurance policies.

One week later, all three companies offered to pay the maximum policy limits available for a total of $1.15 million, only four months after the case was signed.

The Aftermath of the Accident

Although the settlement won’t change the traumatic event our client went through, it gives him the means to take back control of his life and move forward. At Armada Law Injury Attorneys, we are proud of the work we do because we believe in changing people’s lives for the better and holding those who are careless accountable for their wrongdoings. We are people helping people, and we won’t back down until we are able to do right by our clients.

"For me, this case was about refusing to let the circumstances dictate the outcome. This client was busy fighting for his life. We had a responsibility to keep fighting for him. There were so many unanswered questions, and there were times when getting even the most basic information felt like an uphill battle. But I believe our clients deserve someone who is willing to keep pushing, keep asking questions, and keep looking for answers, even when it would be easier to accept the obstacles in front of us. I'm so incredibly proud of what our team was able to accomplish." Anslee Woznick, Attorney
